Bukit Tagar, Selangor, Malaysia.Paraderris elliptica (Wall.) Adema. Fabaceae. CN: [Malay - Akar tuba, Tuba benar, Tuba jenu, Tuba puteh, Tuba tudong], Derris, Tubaroot. Native of Indian subcontinent, Indo-China, Malesia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines). Elsewhere cultivated. Plant pest control (non-vertebrates) - roots contain high concentration of rotenone for the production of organic pesticides; traditionally used as vertebrate poisons (fish), eradicating head lice, crushed leaf paste for treatment of skin itchiness and abscess.
